There's a particular kind of red that only comes from hand block-printing — layered, imperfect in the most beautiful way, deeper in some blooms than others because a human hand pressed the block down, lifted it, pressed again. That's the red running through this one: rose after rose after rose, climbing across ivory cotton like a garden that got a little carried away, threaded through with soft green stems.
The silhouette does the rest of the work. A gathered round neckline ties softly at the throat — loosen it for an easy day, cinch it for something more done-up. From there, the bodice releases into a full, breathing skirt that moves the way only hand-loomed cotton moves: light, unstructured, alive around the ankles. And the sleeves — three-quarter, puffed at the shoulder, gathered at the cuff — are the kind you keep reaching to push up, then decide not to.
Barefoot on sandstone, this dress needs nothing else. Wear it exactly like that, or add gold at the ears and call it done.
